Minister: Iran Not to Talk with Untrustworthy Trump

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli reiterated his country's position of no negotiations with the US under the presidency of Donald Trump, calling him unreliable.
"The US President has proven that he does not remain committed to international treaties and has conflicts not only with the Islamic Republic but with other countries, including Russia and China," Rahmani Fazli said on Wednesday.
"Trump has even ignited some serious problems in the US," he underlined.
"All the world know that Trump is not reliable," Rahmani Fazli added.
The minister said that the Islamic Republic is in conflict with the US government but not the American people.
Rahmani Fazli underscored the significance of fortifying Iran's economy as a way to protect the country against the enemies.
In relevant remarks earlier this month, an official with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei’s office said that the past record of Donald Trump’s behavior proves that he is not trustworthy, adding that the US president’s withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) has proven Washington's untrustworthiness.
“Our problem with US leaders is their conduct as they always act against building trust,” Brigadier General Rasoul Sanayee Rad, deputy head of the Ideological-Political Bureau at the Supreme Leader’s office said.
With his withdrawal from the JCPOA, Trump increased this distrust towards American officials, Sanayee rad added.
Pointing to the record of Trump administration’s breach of international agreements in the past few years, he highlighted the need for being vigilant towards US president’s offer of negotiations as is being severely criticized for his internal and international performance.
“Trump talks about these issues to help him in the upcoming presidential election while dishonesty is obvious in his tone,” the official noted, adding, “His message is not worth consideration.”
