AEOI: Machines producing centrifuge parts moved to safer places

Behrouz Kamalvandi explained that the AEOI increased security measures following the terror attack on the TESA Karaj complex in June last year.

He noted that, under those measures, an important part of the machines was moved, while the rest was transferred to Natanz and Isfahan, adding, they are currently working.

The AEOI spokesman noted that all what has been done is within agreements reached with the International Atomic Energy Agency, the IAEA.

He said the IAEA had issued its reports in two stages.

One report was issued when the machines were being transferred, he said, adding that the other one was issued when we installed cameras.

On the Vienna negotiations to revive the 2015 nuclear deal, Kamalvandi said that part of the talks over the past couple of months included the remaining safeguards issues.

He added that the parties to the talks have agreed to resolve the issues as soon as possible.

The Vienna negotiations began in April last year between Iran and the remaining signatories to the nuclear deal that got into trouble following the US withdrawal from the accord in 2018.

Iran has and time said that its red lines must be met in any agreement on reviving the accord. Iran also says the sanctions that the US imposed after its pullout should be fully removed in a verifiable manner.
