“People across the country showed true heroism on this day and I feel it necessary to bow to the Iranian nation,” said Ayatollah Khamanei on Wednesday in a meeting with a group of people from the Iranian province of East Azerbaijan.
The meeting was held to mark the imminent anniversary of the historic uprising on Feb. 18, 1978 in the city of Tabriz against Iran’s former Pahlavi regime.
In his remarks, the Supreme Leader reiterated this year’s February 11 rallies were an indication of Iranian people’s full support for the Revolution and the Islamic Republic, adding that the voice of the nation effectively neutralized the massive propaganda launched by Western media against Iran in recent months.
