Iran, Croatia review Afghanistan, refuges, JCPOA

During the meeting which was held on the sidelines of the 76th UNGA meeting, both sides referred to bilateral cooperation capacities for activating mechanisms like the joint economic commission.

Amirabdollahian referred to the importance of Balkans especially Croatia in Iran's foreign policy, saying both countries enjoy high capacities for developing cooperation in political and cultural fields.

He also pointed to two agreements regarding customs and mutual investment on the agenda of the Iranian parliament, saying they will bring about new cooperation opportunities.

Meanwhile, Gordan Grlić-Radman said Croatia is after reinforcing relations with Iran.

The joint economic commission is among mechanisms which help develop relations.

He lauded the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) chief Josep Borrell's recent visit to Iran, saying the JCPOA's aim is clear and there is no better alternative.

Stressing Iran's role in maintaining peace and stability in Afghanistan, he hailed Iran's efforts with regard to refugees issue.
