TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister in an Instagram message announced a plane carrying the country's scientist Siruos Asgari who was illegaly jailed in the US is heading towards Tehran.
Asgari, a 59-year-old professor of materials engineering who was acquitted in November 2019 on charges of stealing trade secrets related to his academic activities at Ohio State University, was arrested by the US Immigration Service for revoking his visa.
"Hello friends, good news, the plane carrying Dr. Siruos Askari flew from America," Zarif wrote on his Instagram page.
In relevant remarks on Monday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Abbas Mousavi said Asgari's case is over.
"I think that if there are no problems and new obstacles, he will return to the country in the next two or three days," he added
