Before leaving Iran for Turkiye for attending the 13th Plenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), Qalibaf made remarks among the reports and described the 13th Plenary Session of the APA as an opportunity to promote peace and stability in the region, adding that cooperation among Iran, Azerbaijan and Turkiye is important in today's critical conditions of the world.
Referring to the significance of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, Qalibaf noted that APA is an opportunity for dialogue among all Asian states for securing peace and stability in the region and world.
Pointing to the opportunity of multilateral, bilateral, and trilateral meetings among Iran, Azerbaijan, and Turkiye on the sidelines of the meeting, he underlined that the priority of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s foreign policy is cooperation with neighbors, and termed such cooperation as very sensitive both in bilateral and regional ties.
The stability of the region depends on the cooperation of the countries in the region, and more unities, cooperation, and development of relations among the countries of the region, especially among Iran, Azerbaijan, and Turkiye, will prevent foreign interventions in the region, but if foreign countries interfere in the region, they will cause insecurity and complexity of the issues, he underscored.
Expressing hope that the meeting will be an opportunity to develop relations and cooperation for the growth and coordination of regional countries and to create peace and security, the Qalibaf noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran opposes any border and geopolitical changes in the region.
Regarding economic, political, transportation, and other opportunities in the region, they must ensure lasting security and peace within bilateral and multilateral cooperation among the nations, he reiterated.
The 13th Plenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly will be held in the Turkish city of Antalya.
According to the official website of the Turkish Presidency, the gathering “aims to enhance the cooperation of parliaments in the fields of peace, prosperity, economic and social relations in the Asian region".
