Iran President at Peking Univ in China

Upon arrival at the university, some Chinese students read out part of a Persian poem to welcome the Iranian president.

The dean of the University of Tehran says that Raisi’s speech to the Peking University is so important as it can correct the wrong image the West media has created of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The speech can also lead to convergence between Iran and China, Mohammad Marandi underlined.

Politicians believe that holding such meetings at universities would help get the two sides’ ideas about different issues closer.

President Raisi at the head of a high-ranking Iranian delegation and at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping arrived in Beijing early on Tuesday (February 14).

His visit to Beijing which is the first by a president of the Islamic Republic of Iran to China in 20 years will last for three days.
