The top Indian security official was in Tehran on a one-day trip during which he met with senior Iranian officials including President Ebrahim Raisi.
Amirabdollahian and Doval discussed a range of issues including Tehran-New Delhi cooperation, with the Iranian foreign minister expressing hope that the two countries further expand their cooperation on key regional and international issues including fighting against terrorism and drug trafficking.
The Iranian minister also called for boosting economic and trade relations that matches existing potentials of the two countries.
The Indian official on his part said that the existence of a wide range of potentialities for cooperation between the two sides is of paramount importance with regard to the current developments taking place in the international arena.
He said that transit cooperation is a key pillar in Iran-India relations, and stressed the importance of advancing the Chabahar port project that would lead to enhanced integration between central Asian and Caucasus countries as well as Russia.
